Michigan and Florida Delegates Will Be Seated With Half Votes

The DNC's Rules and Bylaws Committee passed with overwhelming approval two motions that will seat all the Michigan and Florida delegates at the National Convention but reduces their voting power in half.

The Florida motion passed without dissent, 27-0, and allocated the delegates based on the vote percentage. This was the simpler issue because all candidates were on the ballot.

The Michigan motion passed 19-8, and allocated the delegates based on the recommended split suggested by the Michigan Democratic Party.

Clinton adviser Harold Ickes went on a rant that suggests Clinton may continue to contest the Michigan decision, but the committee, with 13 members who have endorsed Clinton, rejected his scorched earth stance, and the fact Clinton supporters voted for this resolution vastly undermines her position and authority. If those Clinton supporters that voted for the motion are representative of a more realistic group of Clinton supporter, we may see a number of Clinton supporters openly calling for her to concede the race next week, or even switching their endorsements.
