Gregoire 11 Points Up On Rossi

Rasmussen has a new poll out that shows Governor Chris Gregoire with a 52% to 41% lead over Republican Dino Rossi.

That's up from 47% to 46% lead in March.

Also significant is that Rossi is viewed favorably by only 49% of the respondents, while Gregoire is viewed favorably by 55%.

So what happened since March to so significantly affect the race?

Well, Rossi unveiled his poorly received transportation "plan" in April.

Once Rossi finally came out with his own ideas about how to resolve an issue, instead of simply criticizing everything the Governor has done, voters came to see the real choices before them. Rossi's 41% is in McGavick territory, and we all remember how that went for McGavick.

Rossi wants to run a campaign in which he only answers the questions he wants to answer, but the problem is whenever he does provide details, he flubs that test, such as with his fantasy transportation "plan", and voters have taken notice.

It's still early, we should treat Rossi like the frontrunner and hope that in the 8th district, Dave can make the mistake of underestimating Darcy.
