Rasmussen Poll Shows Cantwell Strength, McGavick Wilting

Rasmussen Poll - July 17

Maria Cantwell has started campaigning.

She's running ads on TV.

She's about ready to return from D.C. for the August recess so that she can hit the road in Washington State.

Meanwhile, her opponent is running into some legal troubles that won't do his campaign any good.

Since his RV tour has been hitting bumpy roads, it is hardly surprising that McGavick's numbers have fallen back to where they were when he first got into this race last year, while Cantwell has picked up support.

At this point Cantwell is definitely looking strong.

Finally, it should be pointed out that the numbers in the above Rasmussen graphic are actually wrong. Cantwell's is now at 48%, not 46%, and has an 11 point lead at this point.
