WA-08: Burner meets fundraising goal

The Darcy Burner campaign surpassed their fundraising goal of $75,000 in the past 10 days.

Thanks to the many donations of grassroots and netroots supporters we have shown the Reichert campaign that their recent big donor Bush fundraiser will not squelch this campaign. They cannot buy this seat that belongs to all the residents of the 8th District, not just Reichert's super wealthy Bush supporter base.

The 2nd quarter for fundraising reporting completes at the end of this month. By the looks of it the Burner campaign may keep reporting further fundraising gains for the next week, so if you haven't yet made a contribution, you still can of course.

The momentum for Darcy Burner keeps growing.

Hi,
I am checking back with the 8th District. I worked on Dave Ross's campaign in '04 and I couldn't believe Reichert beat him. Was anyone else surprised? I would have thought the area leaned more progressive. Can anyone fill me in?

Suze - I've written about this race considerably. I suggest you dig through some of my past postings for various pieces of info about Reichert and his new opponent, Darcy Burner.

I believe that the area is moving left. We'll see in November how much.
