Kerry Joins Cantwell In Seattle

Another Cantwell event of interest:

Special guests U.S. Senator John Kerry and Teresa Heinz Kerry will join Maria Cantwell for a reception in Seattle next Tuesday, April 11 at 4:30 p.m.

Tuesday, April 11
The Westin
1900 5th Ave. South
Seattle, Washington
4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
RSVP online.

Cantwell is of course seeking to retain her Senate seat by beating the McGavick/Stevens Republican ticket in November.

So let's hope Maria can take an example from John Kerry's 'new' position on war in Iraq, which on the surface sounds like a newly defined plan for an exit strategy. To me it sounds like a somewhat softer version of Jack Murtha's bold plan. Nonetheless, it's another crack in the foundation to have John Kerry take a stronger position. Perhaps there will be some influential impact on Maria Cantwell - ie, it takes courage and hard work to be a Senator representative of the people and the people (along with 72% of the troops polled) want the troops brought home.

Personally I'm not altogether sure that having Kerry by her side, associated with her campaign here at home in Washington State is a very good idea.

Kerry made two very serious mistakes during his campaign.

Flip-flooping...

Kerry (I wish): Yes, I'm probably one of the worse people at that, ever. Unlike my opponent who now sits in the WH when I obtain new information, or the situation surrounding my earlier decision somehow changes, I often reconsider my earlier position/decision and yes, that sometime appears as if I am flip-flopping on issues.

Kerry (actual):......SILENCE.

Swift boats...

Kerry (immediate response, I wish): You know, my critics are right on the money, in a firefight I ran like hell in the other direction. Should anyone wish to dispute that then I'll debate the issue any time any place.

Kerry (no response for weeks):
