Eyman's Screw Washington Initiative
The list can be found here.
It will be a bit before each is reviewed and we know more about what each of these propose to do exactly, but we do know all about what Eyman calls his $30 Tabs initiative, and what I'm inclined to call his Screw Washington initiative.
Permanent Defense is already geared up to counter the spin and the Eyman Distortion Zone.
"Eyman is disrespecting the will of the voters. Voters said 'NO' to Initiative 912 last November and 'YES' to investing in transportation. That decision is being ignored, and now transportation funding is under assault yet again."And this pisses me off!
I spent a good deal of time countering the arguments for I-912 last year, and Tim with his toys is going to cause me to spend a good deal more time dealing with this matter. What is exceptionally arrogant is that Tim was pontificating about his car tab initiative at the same time David Irons was getting his butt kicked by Ron Sims, and the polls had just closed on what would be an eventual 9% I-912 loss. Eyman believes his is a populist movement, yet the people spoke loud and clear last November telling us that they want their transportation issues solved and that they backed the transportation plan the Washington Legislature passed last April to solve them, gas taxes, car taxes, weight fees and all.
In fact Tim Eyman's performance audits initiative received barely 3,500 more votes for it, than we cast against I-912, and we all know what he'd say if someone came up with an initiative that would essentially nullify his performance audits.
While Permanent Defense will be out front in the battle against the new Eyman initiatives, and NPI will be keeping us up to date, this blog will be along for the ride all the way, and I'll be doing my part to shine a light on why Eyman is no man this state should be following or choosing as its self appointed crusader.

I am a firm believer in $30 license tabs. I also voted for the increase in gas tax for road improvement.
I, like most of the voters, did not know or realize that our so called elected employees added more fees to the tabs. This came out after we voted for the tax increase.
With the increase in gas tax, they don't need more fees on the tabs! Start streamlining the gov't, not tax and spend like normal.
Allen - $30 tabs is a fictional concoction out of thin air. There is no basis for the number. Why not $40 or $25? Saying you are a firm believer in $30 license tabs is like saying you believe in Santa Claus.

This is so wrongheaded an argument. Hey, you had dinner the other day, why did you need lunch too? Wake up and get your mindset out of the old tired GOP mantra that Eyman recites at every occasion.
What kind of logic is that?? We voted to not roll-back a gas tax increase, not a raise in vehicle tabs above the $30 that the voters demanded (more than once). And you're right - why $30? Why not $20 or $10?? After all - there is little to no effort involved in renewing car tabs, so it's not as if we are actually getting tab service for money spent. When I purchased my pickup I paid almost $4,000 in sales tax. Now I pay ???? per gallon every time I put fuel in it. How about we make all roads toll roads, charge a 80% tax on tires, and up the registration fees to $500. Where does it end? Whereas I see my wallet as half-empty, you and the state government obviously see it as half-full. Hey - enough is enough! The people have spoken, and I'm not sure why you don't understand that. Send Santa Claus my way - I will need the extra money to buy my truck tabs this year.
