I have emailed all three congresscritters more than once. Rep Baird has answered three times. Second time was about a different topic, and I called him on that answer and he finally replyed to the correct topic.
Senator Murray has answered once, and Cantwell hasn't answered at all. All of the messages they sent back to me were canned political BS.
Not that the Repugs would do any better, but I feel our elected employees should listen to the taxpayers, and at the least, give them a decent answer.
While I don't disagree, I'm sure they do tabulate sentiment sent to them via emails, whether they can find the time to respond with more than a canned response or not. I believe it does make a difference when they hear about specific issues.
If you have personal concerns then it would make sense a more direct approach, such as a follow-up call, or in person meeting if possible, would be better.
It is not easy responding to 6 million constituents when you are a busy Senator, and I for one don't begrudge them that.
